    • Location: The Mountain is located to the north of Wolayta Sodo, the capital of Wolayta Zone. The city is located at the foot of this mountain.
    • Elevation: Damota is approximately 2,900 meters above sea level. This elevation makes it the highest of all the mountains in the area.

The mountain is called the “Roof of Wolayta” because it is the highest point in Wolayta. From the top of the mountain, you can see:

  • The entire city of Sodo,
  • Lakes Abaya and Chamo in the distance,
  • The surrounding mountains of Gamo, Kembata and Sidama can be seen.

Day 2: Damota Mountain and Moche Borago Cave Tour

  • Morning (2:00): Drive to the base of Damota Mountain. Then start hiking. Climbing the mountain on foot is very good for health and views. (You can drive to the top of the mountain, but walking is preferable).
  • Morning: Visit the top of the mountain and enjoy the panoramic view.
  • Afternoon: Visit the Moche Borago cave at the foot of the mountain. See the footprints of ancient people.
  • Evening: Return to Sodo town and rest.

Day 3: Ajora Falls and return

  • Morning: Early morning drive to Ajora Falls (56 km). Visit the twin waterfalls.
