Dorso Waterfall
This is one of the most attractive and stunning natural attractions in the Chencha district of the Gamo Zone. It has gained high praise and popularity among nature enthusiasts.

Travel Itinerary
Planning a two-day trip is recommended to see the Dorso Waterfall and the local culture at a relaxed pace.
Day 1: From Arba Minch to Chencha
- Morning (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM): Depart from Arba Minch, admiring stunning mountain views on the way up to Chencha.
- Afternoon: Arrive in Chencha town or Dorze village and rest. Spend the afternoon visiting traditional villages and watching the residents’ amazing weaving art.
- Night: Stay in a hotel in Chencha town or a Dorze tourist lodge, enjoying traditional food.
Day 2: Dorso Waterfall Visit and Return Trip
- Morning (8:00 AM – 11:00 AM): From your accommodation, head to Dorso Kebele. Start the beautiful walk to the waterfall from the vehicle parking area.
- Late Morning (11:00 AM – 1:30 PM): Reach the waterfall! Relax, take photos, and enjoy the cold water spray and the sounds of nature.
- Afternoon (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM): Return to your vehicle and have lunch.
- Evening: Conclude your visit and begin the descent back to Arba Minch.
Prerequisites for the Trip
- Shoes: The mountain path and waterfall area can be wet and slippery; wearing sturdy, non-slip hiking boots is mandatory.
- Clothing: Do not forget to bring a light raincoat to protect against the waterfall spray, as well as a warm jacket for the cold Chencha air.
- Transport: Using a 4WD vehicle is recommended to easily handle the mountainous and winding road.
- Food and Water: Carry sufficient drinking water and energy-giving dry snacks for the hike.
