Dorea/Dorya Natural Reserve forest
One of the few remaining dense indigenous forests in the Kore Zone (Amaro). This forest is particularly known for its biodiversity, tall trees, and its suitability for research.
Here is a detailed description of the Dorea Forest and its itinerary:
Detailed description of the Dorea Natural Reserve
Forest Content and Nature
- Native Trees: The forest is home to ancient trees such as cedar, sycamore, pine, and other rare tree species. The height of the trees and the layering of their leaves prevent sunlight from reaching the ground.
- Wildlife Refuge: The Dorea Forest is a safe haven for a variety of wildlife. It is home to the howler monkey (in the mountainous part), cheetah, hyena, deer, and various wild boars.
- Bird Sanctuary: The forest is home to many birds, including endemic birds, making it a great destination for birdwatchers.
Ecological Benefits
- Water Tower: The forest is the source of many springs. The water from this forest helps the lowland areas and agricultural fields.
- Climate Regulator: The Dora Forest plays a major role in maintaining the local climate and rainfall.

Useful tips for your trip
- The importance of a guide: Since the forest is dense, it is not recommended to enter without a guide as the paths can be lost.

- Observation equipment: Binoculars and a camera with a zoom lens will help you see birds and animals.
- Season: Traveling from October to May (summer season) makes the route easier.
