Basura Grave Site
Located in Basura Kebele, Bule Woreda, this ancient cemetery is a mysterious and highly respected archaeological site within the UNESCO Cultural Landscape.
Unique Features
- The Cemetery: An ancient burial ground for historic Gedeo leaders, heroes, or prominent clans (such as the Derasho). The stelae are erected on and around ancient burial mounds.
- Intact Forest: Spanning 2 hectares, the cemetery is covered by a strictly protected indigenous forest where tree cutting is entirely taboo.
