This itinerary is designed for someone traveling by car.
Day 1: Addis Ababa to Wolayta Sodo
- Travel: In the morning, you can travel from Addis Ababa via the Butajira – Hosanna – Sodo route or the Hawassa route. The distance is about 330 km, and it takes 6 to 7 hours by car.
- Rest: Travel along the beautiful landscapes along the way; if possible, see the Tiya Tekel Stone (if traveling via the Butajira route).
- Accommodation: Overnight at a hotel in Wolayta Sodo town.
Day 2: Damota Mountain and Moche Borago Cave Tour
- Morning (2:30 – 3:00): After breakfast in Sodo town, start the journey to Damota Mountain. To reach the cave, you will need to travel part of the way by car and the rest by hiking.
- Morning: Half to one hour hike (with local guide) to Moche Borago Cave. Explore the cave’s historical sites, take photos, and enjoy the stunning view of Mount Damota.
